Job Summary

As an Electrical Project Manager plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated project to ensure that goals, or objectives of project are accomplished within established time frame and budget.  The basic function of the Electrical Project Manager is to oversee production, audit, and control costs on all assigned construction projects.  The successful candidate will be able to work collaboratively with managers and key personnel.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Continually build, develop and grow vendor, subcontractor and field personnel relationships throughout entire process to assure success of the project.
  • Works with Electrical Estimator to come up with project budget and conduct buy outs.
  • Develop project staffing plans to include labor, subcontractors, and project engineers.
  • Ensure field staff adheres to project schedule.
  • Act as liaison between local facility staff and regional team members.
  • Monitor, control and report on financial performance of projects, including project billing and work in progress reports.
  • Estimate, negotiate and procure vendors and materials for project.
  • Communicate project goals via weekly update meetings with key personnel, including General Contractor and clients.
  • Communicate complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or any other stakeholders.
  • Ensure electrical punch list and close out is complete in a timely fashion.
  • Oversee participation in all aspects of job site safety and adherence to OSHA standards


Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction, civil engineering, or similar strongly preferred.
  • Strong cost control and project budget management experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
  • Proficiency in Procore required.
  • Must have Electrical background
  • Must be flexible and have strong multi-tasking capabilities.
  • 5+ years of experience managing commercial and industrial electrical/mechanical construction projects
  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management PMP
  • Preferred Strong software proficiency, specifically the Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel
  • Strong ability to work with others: clients, fellow workers, subordinates and management.
  • Strong abilities in scheduling and must be familiar with purchase orders, project manager documents and writing contracts.
  • Strong negotiating & communication skills required.
  • Building codes, Electrical ADA codes and be able to perform electrical calculations
  • Fire Alarm License preferred, but not required
  • Completion of an Accredited Apprenticeship Program preferred, but not required
  • Must follow all state/local building regulations from the National Electrical Code
